Partner for purpose

SBS can help your brand turn purpose into actions that make Australia a better place. For everyone.

Our purpose

We inspire all Australians to explore, respect and celebrate our diverse world and in doing so, contribute to an inclusive and cohesive society.

This purpose has guided what we do for over 45 years, and has meant we are always looking for ways to shine a light on different perspectives. We are passionate about partnering with brands who want to shape the debate and make Australia a better place.

Our history

Launched in 1975 to ensure multicultural communities were aware of the Medibank scheme, SBS has grown into the world's most linguistically diverse broadcaster and an Australian institution, delivering content in over 60 languages across TV, Digital and Audio platforms.

Our charter

We provide multilingual and multicultural broadcasting and digital media services that inform, educate and entertain all Australians and, in doing so, reflect Australia's multicultural society.

We highlight different perspectives

SBS shines a light on Australia's social issues and provides different perspectives that might otherwise not get shared. With over 70% of Australians saying they want brands to take the lead on important issues, we are here to help you uncover what's important and how to make a world of difference1.

Help us close the media gap

Australia's original storytellers, its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, represent 3.2% of the population but it’s estimated that less than 0.3% of media investment reaches these audiences3.

Beyond 3% is here to help the industry address this gap by learning more about the role and value of First Nations media in Australia today with a goal of raising investment in Indigenous media platforms to at least a 3 per cent target.

A greener future

Since founding SBS Green in 2018, we have been driving sustainability measures across the business. Our emissions are below the industry average4, reflecting our ongoing commitment to move to carbon neutrality.

As part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact, SBS is proud to be a founding member of Sustainable Screens Australia, a collaborative industry initiative created to improve capabilities and practice within our sector, and decrease our carbon footprint.

Let's talk about how we can partner for purpose.
